Reginald Shedlin was an artist active in mid-20th-century Paris. He had British parents and was born in Bayonne 1908. Passionate about drawing, he moved to Paris upon obtaining his baccalaureate and enrolled in the School of Decorative Arts. His work reflects the artistic milieu of Paris in the 1950s, a period rich in modernist experimentation.

The piece is framed with an hand painted and patinated antique frame and placed on a light background.
